Applying for a Singapore Certificate of Clearance
Applying for a Certificate of Clearance from Singapore is a time-consuming task, but with the right steps, doable. Here, of course, it is important to know which path to follow to request this document. Below, we briefly outline a step-by-step process to request the application for a COC from Singapore:
Step 1:
The application for a COC from Singapore begins at the following website:
https://eservices.police.gov.sg/content/policehubhome/homepage/certificate-of-clearance-hub.html
First, an application for an E-appeal must be submitted. The application goes through SINGPASS or FIN. E-appeal approval takes a few days, so start on time. Once approved, the final application can begin.
* It is important to use the Internet Explorer (IE) browser during the application. Other browsers do not work or do not work fully.
** The Singapore government updates their website almost every day. Make sure that the moment you start collecting documents and information, you do it outside the website page, otherwise there is a good chance that you will miss documents and have to upload it again later. Collect first and then upload all at once.
*** If you are applying with a Dutch passport fill in citizenship Netherlands and not Dutch. If you enter Dutch, you cannot complete the application after the approval E-appeal because you cannot log in again
Step 2:
Once the E-appeal approval is in, the online application for the Certificate of Clearance can be started.
The website of the Force Police in Singapore describes the steps to be taken for each section. The Singapore Force Police portal is very extensive and will take some time, also various attachments need to be added in the Force Police portal, such as copy of passport, passport photo, copy of NRIC card of the front and back, scan of the letter why the COC should be requested (may just be the Dutch letter).
When all data has been entered and uploaded, you can indicate whether the COC should be sent to a location, this can be, for example, the address in the Netherlands. Collection can also be chosen, in which case a local person in Singapore can pick up the statement.
Step 3:
Complete the application and payment (S$60). Upon completion and payment, you will receive a confirmation email with a payment receipt attached. Both the email and the attachment (invoice) should be printed and attached to the fingerprint cards.
Step 4:
Have your fingerprints taken at an accredited agency, which performs the work in an office and has all the necessary hygienic measures in place there to perform it in the most careful manner.
Step 5:
VKSS will prepare the fingerprint cards and identity statement for you, in addition, they can also send the documents to Singapore with Express mail FedEx.
Step 6:
Once the Force Police in Singapore has received your documents, all you have to do is wait for the result.
